"He's kind of over the hump with some things," Rams head coach Steve Spagnuolo said. "It looks like he's going to be okay. It would be the understatement of the year to say that it's a relief."
Bradford threw during Wednesday's practice session. He was hurt during a 31-13 season-opening loss to the Eagles on Sunday.
"The hand feels ten times better than it did on Sunday, even on Monday," Bradford said. "That's encouraging. Hopefully it continues to get better. Hopefully it will be 100 percent by Monday."
Bradford said he was wearing a special glove. It's supposed to increase blood flow to the finger, which is meant to take down the swelling. However, Bradford said he would not use it in game situations.
"Everyone says I look like Michael Jackson," Bradford said. "I'm really not sure what it does, but it does something."
Spagnuolo said nothing was changed as far as the status of running back Steven Jackson, who sustained a quad strain in the season opener. The Rams hope to have a better idea if Jackson will play Monday by the end of this week.
Spagnuolo added that he didn't believe surgery would be necessary for wide receiver Danny Amendola, who suffered a dislocated left elbow on Sunday. Amendola is out indefinitely.
The Rams made several roster moves Wednesday, among them placing cornerback Ron Bartell on injured reserve (fractured neck). They also released center Drew Miller, signed safety Tim Atchison and running back Quinn Porter, released safety Jonathan Nelson from the practice squad, and signed quarterback Tom Brandstater and offensive tackle Tim Barnes to the practice squad.
